KINDY ACRO & MUSICKindy through to Adults Maleny Performing Arts Centre offers a dynamic Kindy Acro class, designed to improve balance, flexibility and confidence through an obstacle course circuit using acro mats, a small jumping castle and other gym equipment. Our teachers guides the children to learn forward rolls and other tricks, and the class winds down with live guitar music by Kester and movement led by Kirsty. Connect with your child for a fun and engaging experience that fosters a love for Acro, movement and music.

ROCKSTARS MUSIC & MOVEMENT0 years through to Kindy Join Rockstars Music & Movement at MPAC & Maleny lane to witness the magic of an original music and movement class where children aged 0 and up can rock out to live guitar and explore various instruments. With over 24 years of bringing this program to child care centres, our dynamic class focuses on building confidence and musicality, whilst teaching about animals, colours, numeracy, and literacy. From favourite nursery rhymes such as Twinkle twinkle, Wheels on the bus and Old McDonald to songs written by Kester and Kirsty, the energy in this class makes it magical.

BALLETKindy, Junior, Intermediate Senior/Teens & Adults Ballet is a graceful and elegant art form that emphasizes precision and control. It requires strong posture and precise movements. At MPAC, our qualified teachers and industry professionals deliver both the magic and artistry in each class, nurturing your child's imagination while developing their technical skills. We have carefully chosen the British Ballet Organisation syllabus, as it alight with our studio values. bbodance provides a safe and developmental program of study that emphasises technique, artistry, and performance skills, while supporting the dancer in every way. Our classes are designed for all levels and ages from Kindy to Juniors, Intermediates, Senior/Teens, and Adults. Students have the option to participate in yearly ballet examinations, and at MPAC, we create a positive ballet examination experience for every child. As a result, our students consistently achieve excellent results in their exams, and have an opportunity to pursue successful careers in dance if they wish, or simply fall in love with ballet, and express themselves through the magic of dancing on stage at our concerts. JAZZKindy, Junior, Intermediate, Teens/Seniors & Adults At MPAC, our jazz classes are suitable for all ages, including Kindy, Juniors, Intermediates, Teens/Seniors, and Adults. Our classes combine technique with upbeat music, providing an age-appropriate and engaging experience for all. Students will learn jazz moves, proper alignment, condition their strength & flexibility, kicks, jumps, and turns, while developing their musicality, building confidence, coordination, and creativity. We believe in fostering individuality and encourage students to express themselves through movement, developing their unique style. Our amazing original and current choreography is designed to connect with the kids and ignite their energy. Our qualified jazz teachers are passionate about working with each student, inspiring, motivating, and challenging them to reach their full potential while encouraging a love for dance. HIP HOP & BREAKDANCEKindy, Juniors, Intermediates, Teens/Seniors & Adults At Maleny Performing Arts Centre, our hip hop classes are suitable for all ages, providing a fun and energetic environment for students to learn the latest moves and tricks. We have carefully crafted classes with current choreography that aligns with our studio values and is appropriate for varying age groups. Our old school street style Hip-Hop classes will help your child move with attitude, while building their confidence and creativity. Breakdance a dynamic, fun, entertaining, and culturally relevant modern art form. Safety is paramount in our classes, and we ensure that most moves require practice, which is great for developing perseverance and resilience in your child. ACRO/PARKOURJunior, Intermediates, Teens/Seniors. MPAC’s acrobatics class for juniors is a dynamic and fun-filled experience that focuses on safety and technique, teaching students a range of tricks, flips, and balances on specialised mats and equipment, while creating resilience and determination. Our advanced acrobatics classes for students that are ready is in a supportive environment while challenging students to reach their full potential. Students develop strength, flexibility, coordination and balance while learning acrobatic skills such as tumbling, handstands, aerials and more. Join us and take your acrobatic skills to the next level. Maleny has Parkour on offer! Our Parkour games for juniors develop physical skills and encourage teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. CHEERLEADINGJuniors Maleny Performing Arts Centre’s Junior cheerleading with pompoms is a team style sport that combines dance, acrobatics, and cheers. It requires teamwork, choreography, and pompoms, and emphasises team spirit, safety, and skills for children.

MUSICAL THEATREJuniors, Intermediates, Teens/Seniors & Adults. Got a Dramatic child? Our musical theatre class at Maleny Performing Arts Centre combines professional training with playful, engaging activities. Students will learn acting, via improvised drama games, singing, and dancing techniques, build their confidence and teamwork skills, and showcase their talents in exciting musical performance. MPAC is known for their vibrant musical theatre tributes in competitions, and our concerts. Past tributes have been The Greatest Showman, Annie, Mama Mia, Frozen, Encanto, Matilda and Xanadu.

CONTEMPORARYIntermediates, Teens/Seniors & Adults. Welcome to our contemporary dance class at Maleny Performing Arts Centre. Our class is designed to be fun, engaging and artistic, while also teaching you the specific techniques and aesthetics of contemporary dance. We will begin by exploring the 'release' technique, to achieve a fluid, expressive movement quality. We will also work on 'falling and catching' techniques, which require trust and control between partners and yourself. Throughout the class, you will be challenged to expand your concept of what dance is, and to connect with your emotions as you move. Our instructors, Kirsty and Kester, have extensive experience in contemporary dance, having trained in some of the leading contemporary styles such as Graham, Cunningham and Limon. Kirsty and Kester are passionate about sharing their expertise with you, and will work with you to develop strength and feeling in your performance. So come join us for a dynamic, inspiring and unforgettable contemporary dance experience!

LYRICALJunior, Intermediate, Teen/Senior. Welcome to our jazz lyrical class! Our class is designed to be engaging and professional, blending the technical precision of jazz with the emotional expression of lyrical dance. You'll learn how to combine fluid, graceful movements with sharp, dynamic lines, while also developing your musicality and stage presence. Our of cutting-edge choreography gives students options for competitions, as well as our end-of-year concert. They our specialist teachers will guide you through the latest trends and help you develop your own unique style, ensuring that you are prepared to shine on stage.

CREATIVE CHOREOGRAPHYJunior, Intermediate, Teen/Senior. Got a child making up dances at home all the time? This class is for your child! Enhance your child's creativity through highly engaging and enjoyable activities and challenges. Dancers will learn to create, innovate, push boundaries, evolving the dance art form. Involving group and individual work, students create their own dances to music and are involved in a mini showcase each lesson. Great for building teamwork, your child will learn skills to create a dance, give dance critiques framed in a positive manner and to be a respectful audience member. Your child will be creating special events/showcases on a regular basis for your enjoyment. A unique class created, especially for Maleny Performing Arts Centre.

FAMILY TAPKindy through to Adults At Maleny Performing Arts Centre, we offer Family Tap classes suitable for all ages and skill levels. Using the British Ballet Organisation Tap Syllabus, we focus on timing, rhythm, and technique, while also encouraging individuality and group discipline. Connect with your child through our tap class, or come without the kids and enjoy the class yourself. Kids are welcome to come without a parent, with lots of options available. Our qualified teachers work on building basic skills to advanced levels and prepare students to perform a concert dance at the end of the year.
